The Backpacking Photographer blog was started by nature and wildlife photographer Kari Post in 2009.  An avid adventurist and lover of nature, Kari began backpacking as a way to spend more time outdoors and combine her love for camping and hiking.  As a photographer, she hoped to use backpacking as a means to explore and photograph new areas of wilderness.

In this blog, Kari shares gear reviews, travel tips, photographs, suggestions, and stories relating to her experiences combining photography and backpacking.  Since backpacking with photography equipment is a unique challenge requiring specific equipment and planning, Kari hopes to provide other backpacking photographers with insight and inspiration and to help them make safe, informed, decisions regarding photography backpacking trips.
